Casacor 2012

2012 |Santiago, Chile

For the 2012 Casacor Show, our office designed the space that had originally been defined as a TV room.

In alliance with Chilean brand Sur Diseño, we redefined the use of this room, transforming it into an audiovisual gallery. We were inspired by a Baroque period aesthetic, which we combined with furniture from the brand’s markedly contemporary lines, with the goal of creating a union between classic and current that would escape the ordinary.

On the walls, three screens framed with elaborate gold molding occupy a central role. Each one exhibits a micro video, works we created in collaboration with artist Margarita Dittborn, whose Baroque still life photographs were animated by Juan Sáez.

“A talented artisan created realistic tarnishing on walls and moldings, in addition to painting an elaborate rug with Persian motifs directly onto the space’s wood floor.”
