The interior design of this project was conceived as a result of its history. The El Golf neighborhood location of Ciro’s is the second version of a traditional diner and bar in downtown Santiago. This site is distinguished by a menu of typical Chilean dishes and by its noisy atmosphere. For more than six decades, it has welcomed a transversal clientele, mainly related to the office world of the capital.
The basic idea was to transfer that same experience to the new location, maintaining its typical soda shop characteristics but reinterpreted and conscious of its new surroundings. The premise, then, was to update the warmth of the original, constructing a vintage aesthetic that recalls an authentic, unpretentious Chile. We recalled the imagination of the country between the 1960s and 80s in order to create a time capsule in the middle of the El Golf neighborhood, but through a contemporary prism.
The architecture of the place — a house converted into a restaurant — led to a multifaceted design. We took advantage of numerous salons to create multiple sets. Each space provides a different experience, reinforced by different color palettes. The walls were refitted with wood, in the style of the 1960s, in combination with mosaics in shades of green. And for some sections of the floor, traditional terrazzo floor tiles were used. Regarding its key furniture elements, it also has Pullman seating with synthetic leather upholstery.
