For Grace College, a school in Chicureo, our office developed the interior design of the teachers’ room and directorial offices. We sought to create different instances in which teachers could work individually or in groups and plug their computers in at a common workspace counter.
The main objective of the project was to encourage internal communication and collaboration between personnel through spaces designed to that end. In order to achieve this objective, the selection of a color palette, materials, and lighting was very important. We chose red and blue hues, creating a palette that breaks with habitual color schemes and awakens the senses. Some walls were papered with a graphic pattern that adds color and interest.
These geometric forms presented on different levels, along with the furniture selected and very careful lighting, play a fundamental role in creating a dynamic and positive atmosphere.
We also designed a functional kitchen integrated into the space to be utilized during teacher breaks. Meanwhile, the directorial offices are translucent spaces that reveal what is going on inside and connect aesthetically with the teachers’ room.
