Our office was in charge of designing the scenographic proposal for the exhibit “Mad Men: Testimony of an Era”, organized by the Museum of Fashion in Santiago about the television series whose name it bears.
The clothing to be exhibited was the same wardrobe worn by the actors in “Mad Men”. The outfits designed for the show had never before been put on display. On this occasion, since they were not actual period pieces, we were able to present them outside of climate-controlled cases. Thus, several mannequins sported the series’ wardrobe in different spaces of the house where the Fashion Museum functions. The office, bedrooms, and a living room were among the spaces utilized.
The museum — built in the 1970s as home of the Yarur-Bascuñán family — has an architectural style and spectacular ambience that allowed us to elaborate different sets that both complemented the pieces exhibited and contextualized them in a contemporaneous space.
