Pichilemu House

2014 |Pichilemu, Chile

This project involved remodeling and designing the interior of a home for a young couple with a love of surfing and beachside living. We sought to create loose, unpretentious interior spaces that would reflect the sensation of spending time by the sea. Living is easy in this house, and low-maintenance.

The color palette was inspired by the ocean, and thus a range of sky-blues and water tones prevail. They are noted especially in the wallpaper selection, tiling, and in the treatment given to one of the walls in the common area, which was painted with abstract geometric forms.

We selected a special wallpaper for each bedroom, inspired by the different colors and luminosity of the landscape surrounding the home throughout the day; one space evokes the beach in the morning, while others recall a sunset atmosphere.

On the walls, photographs by Alfredo Gildemeister of surfing and waves can be appreciated.

ā€œThis home stands out for its flexible, multifunctional spaces that can be adapted to different uses. The living room has a bar and is simultaneously an ideal space to watch movies, read, or simply rest.ā€
