At the start of this project, our office received a call from a Swedish advertising, among whose many accounts is the brand Ikea. Another of its clients is Swedish realty company Riksbyggen, which has a very particular relationship with design.
For their new, under-construction condominium project, they thought to develop an advertising campaign based on the design and habilitation of two apartments created by two interior design offices from different parts of the world, to later be put up for sale. The assignment consisted of reinterpreting Scandinavian design into oneās own vision, seeking to renew its most well known aesthetic, which is characterized by light colors and wood tones.
Gristanti & Cussen was chosen as the firm to represent Latin America, along with Lebanese designer and architect, Nathalie Harb, whose offices are in Beirut and London. Each participant was given the mission to design an apartment that would reinterpret the Scandinavan look from their own perspective.
Our proposal included soft colors and objects that related in some way to Scandinavia, but through a Latin American prism. The space features an irreverent use of color, textures, and a certain degree of irony and playfulness, managing to destructure the Nordic style.
