In 2017, we took on the curation of Sur Diseño, the historic Chilean design brand, with a trajectory of over 70 years. The firm, previously known as Muebles Sur, changed owners and was looking to refresh its image in a global sense. The new store at Mall Parque Arauco was one of the assignments in this alliance. There, we worked with the concept of showing a kind of design that is habitable. We sought for visitors to be able to explore atmospheres, trends, and decorative objects, appreciating the products’ functionality, proportions, and possible uses.

To this end, a polished space was created, with broad white walls and iron shelves, making it easier to view the objects. In addition, a rhythm of semi-outfitted areas was created, which allows for variation of color and texture on the walls according to each season’s trends. Sets were designed to simulate real home interiors. Living-dining, bedroom, and office sets are the axes of this main area. Here, customers can appreciate the products in their real dimension.

A central translucent cube is the core focus of the space, custom designed for the store. Inside, visitors can find furnished sets and appreciate the entire perimeter of high shelves and the small collections of decorative objects they exhibit. An all-encompassing experience inside the store.
